Closed-Loop Filtration: How It Works
Refuel's closed-loop diesel filtration systems are specially engineered to reverse and eliminate contamination caused by the natural aging process of fuel, the fuel supply chain and fuel storage tanks.

Refuel systems install as a self reliant/independent filtration systems built completely of stainless steel. Each unit includes a CSA rated control panel, a patented self monitoring covalent bonding filter and filtration tank all contained in a compact NEMA rated cabinet. Refuel systems are engineered to meet requirements from 500 liters to 5 million liters and are compatible for retrofit and new installations.
Refuel: How It Works (Closed Loop Infographic)
Stage 1: Suction and return lines are installed into the storage tank to establish a closed-loop flow
The suction line is installed within one-inch of the tank floor to ensure any existing build up of microbial growth and particulate are pulled out of the tank and into the filtration process
Stage 2: The closed-loop creates a current within the fuel tank that prevents particulate from forming and accumulating inside the tank
Stage 3: Fuel is drawn into the Refuel filtration system and forced through the patented Integrity Series Filter
Stage 4: Particulate, emulsified water and freestanding water are trapped inside the filter resin via a covalent bonding process
The covalent bonding filter technology creates a self monitoring process that triggers a system warning as the filter reaches the end of its effective life
Once the fuel filtration (polishing) process is complete the clean rejuvinated fuel is then returned to the storage tank where the process continuously repeated to maintain the fuel's integrity and reliability and ensure the storage unit remains clean and free of microbial growth.
Refuel's combined practice of cleaning the fuel storage facilities(tanks) while fulfilling its primary function of cleaning the stored fuel, combined with our self regulating filter technology makes Refuels closed-loop filtration approach highly effective, providing our clients with a high degree of confidence in our system and its ability to protect emergency systems.
